Electricity observatory
Annual national electricity indicators for Syria: total generation, the fuel mix (gas, oil, hydro, solar), fossil and renewable shares, demand, demand per capita, and power-sector emissions—a picture of the electricity crisis and the energy sector’s recovery.
These electricity indicators come entirely from Ember as national annual values: how much power Syria generates, what fuels it, and how little reaches each person. They picture the electricity crisis and a slow recovery — grid figures that may miss the private generators widespread during shortages.

About 96% of generation is fossil while the renewable share holds near 3–4%, with solar still a rounding error — even as demand per person sits among the world's lowest. The chart shows both shares for the latest year from the same source.
Filter the period from the filter bar, then download the annual table from any chart menu as CSV or Excel. A blank means the source published no value, not zero.

Grid generation and demand may not capture the private generators widespread during the crisis, and none of this is a governorate measurement.
